How a purchase works
Three things happen before your money moves.
We check the title, and you read the check
Before a property is listed we pull its title at the land registry and record what the seller actually holds — a Certificate of Occupancy, a Governor's Consent, a registered deed, or nothing at all. The finding is dated and published on the listing, including when it is bad news.
Your money sits with a licensed solicitor
Funds go to a solicitor's client account, not to us. We are not a party to the transfer and cannot move your money. That is the arrangement precisely so that trusting us is not something you have to do.
You watch the land from wherever you live
Our field team visits in person and records what they find — photographs taken on the spot, with the time and the GPS position attached. You see the same evidence file we do, as it is captured.
The obvious question
Why would you trust a company you have never heard of?
You shouldn't have to. We are new, we are small, and saying otherwise would be the first lie.
So the business is arranged so that trusting us is not the thing standing between you and your money. The funds sit with a licensed solicitor we cannot draw on. The title-check is a document you read yourself, dated, naming the registry it came from. The site visits carry timestamps and coordinates we did not choose after the fact.
If we disappeared tomorrow, your money would still be with the solicitor and your evidence file would still say what it says.
Read a title-check for yourself — every listing carries one, including the ones where the finding is not flattering.
Keep it on your phone
Add GroundTruth to your home screen and it opens like an app — useful when a site visit lands while you are on the move. Nothing to download from a store.
Open this page on your phone, then choose Add to Home Screen from your browser’s menu.
Apps for iPhone and Android are in build and will be on the App Store and Google Play. Until then this is the same product, in your browser.
